WHO WE ARE

The Brickyard Story

The combination of our top tier team and atmosphere is what makes our shop different.

Our single collective vision in opening Brickyard Bike Co. was to provide our community with the expertise, service, and atmosphere we felt it deserved. We believe we have created the experience we would all want as customers and work hard every day to improve with every experience.
In the spring of 2019, we jumped on the opportunity to bring premier American cycling brand, Trek, back into our community by opening our new shop on the corner of Brickyard Road and Dillingham Street. Our friend David Fivecoat suggested we call it Brickyard Bikes; the name stuck easily, but the buildout proved troublesome. Old buildings are full of surprises and delays- what was supposed to be 3 weeks of construction turned into 3 months- however, we were ecstatic with the finished product when we moved in two weeks before opening on July 1, 2019. We exposed all the brick, mortar, and high ceilings, sealed the bare concrete floor and colossal counter around our service area, gave it all the light it deserves, filled the air with the aroma of espresso, curated our racks and shelves with the best selection of bikes and gear available, and hired the best people for their expertise, experience, certifications, community involvement, and passion for all things cycling. The combination of our top-tier team and atmosphere is what makes our shop different.

OUR TALENTED STAFF

The Brickyard Team

We’ve got a pretty awesome team. Our passion for our works results in a great experience for you and the best possible care for your bike.

Todd is our general manager and certified fitter. Before riding and working in the cycling industry, he was jumping out of planes. He got into cycling at Auburn University when a group of friends decided to start mountain biking, then got into road biking and racing with the Auburn Flyers Club Cycling team. Todd rides all disciplines and firmly believes in cycling’s positive impact on himself and our community; he partnered with Pete in building Brickyard Bike Co. to provide the expertise and service they can provide as a team.

Before working in the bike industry, Chris was studying classical music for undergraduate and graduate degrees. He initially wanted to get into triathlons, but had way more fun riding my bike than running. Asked why he chose to be a part of the Brickyard team, he says, "Because from the first moment I stepped into the shop I felt welcomed and was introduced to a level of expertise in the cycling industry that I had not experienced before." If his house burned down, what bike would he take? "I would take my Emonda, it is my pride and joy. First carbon, first hydraulic disk, first 11-speed."

He got into cycling through BMX Freestyle ride in mid 80s then road riding due to Injury during last 3 years of service. He says he chose to be a part of the Brickyard team because "having owners you trust and are all about cycling and helping grow the cycling community makes it easy to want to be part of this amazing team. We have great work ethics and a passion for all things cycling. It's like having another family that work well and get along with everyone that comes through the shop door."
